From the wilds of the Weeg comes Janey Godley, with a hilarious concoction of working class anecdotes and political satire. Janey is a woman who embraces her roots, as she unapologetically delves into the threads that hold the working classes of Glasgow together – and the powers that keep them there. Discussing Oxo cube coloured chavs, the effects of the Glasgow bombing on the locals (‘A jist thought, ‘Ma flight tae Tenerife’s fucked noo!’’), calling Tony Blair a cunt (to his face), pigs in the garden and alligators in the bath, Janey had the audience in hysterics. And at the end she stood at the door to personally thank each person for attending her show. A genuinely nice, touching and very, very funny woman – don’t miss this show! |
